This was created to show the students how to follow the contours (outside line) of an object. After they were able to draw the contour they learned about shading.
This was a great project to challenge the students at all levels of artistry. Some were still learning how to shade, while the more advanced students learned how to trust and push what they already knew and expand on their abilities.

This project was done at the beginning of the year. We used a wire hanger, ladies nylons, a piece of wood and paint. After learning the difference between abstract and concrete art methods we made abstract art. The goal was to form any abstract shape and turn it into art after adding the nylon. Some students preferred to still form something specific but they all turned out pretty great! (view photos)
